About Matthew James Walker

“As a proud Knaresborian, it would be a privilege to serve the people of Knaresborough and put the towns’ future destiny back in its hands. Born, raised, schooled, and lived in the town most of my life.”

“I have managed the A&E at Harrogate Hospital and currently work for NHSX, best known for creating the NHS App. A regular supporter of local charities, running several marathons, raising thousands of pounds for good causes including Henshaws and St Michael’s Hospice.”

“It is vital that more is done to improve the quality of services delivered by the NHS and Social Care. This can only be achieved through improved funding of both services.”

“As the number of houses in Knaresborough increases residents are concerned that the town infrastructure such as doctors, dentists and school places are not developing to cope sufficiently with the town’s increased population.”

“I will work with local groups and the County Council to improve the level of proactive planning for improved investment in the town.”
